Fear tells us we have nowhere to hide—that we will end unmasked, embarrassed and alone. That’s why we scheme and sweat to keep from being known. Grace tells us we have no need to hide—that we will end delivered, honored, and set free. And thus we find the joy of being accepted as we are—as broken as our fears reported, but loved and cherished all the same. If I am loved at my worst—and loved no better at my best—then I am safe beyond words, and confident in Jesus’ power to renew me. So stay in grace.
