Andrews U. Recycles 10,000 Pounds of Electronics

Andrews University in Berrien
Springs, Michigan, recently hosted a recycling event that generated nearly
8,000 pounds of electronic waste. In addition to hosting this
community-wide event, the university also recycled more than 2,000 pounds of
electronics to date in 2014, keeping more than 10,000 pounds of electronic
waste out of local landfills. The school was commended for its effort by Green
Earth Electronics Recycling in St. Joseph, Michigan.

On its web site, the university
thanked all who participated in the recycling event. Recycling helps preserve
the beauty of Southwestern Michigan and our lakeshores for future generations
to enjoy, according to a report on the university web site.

In September the university will
host another recycling event. Campus leaders have set a goal to save more than
15 tons (30,000 pounds) of electronic waste from local landfills in 2014.
