he Adventist Review gets several thousands of letters each year from many different countries. It is a challenge to our staff to keep up with them!
The number of Letters to the Editor intended for publication varies greatly from month to month. They average at least 100 per month, but may run several times higher. Our articles on Harry Potter, health-care salaries, and clergy sexual abuse have brought many responses. And our coverage of the issue of women's ordination (in 1995) garnered more than 200 letters in less than a month!
A large portion of the letters printed have originated within the United States; however, we have published letters from many countries. In the past year we have had representation on our letters pages from Australia, Canada, China, England, Estonia, France, Germany, Iceland, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Nepal, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Papua New Guinea, Romania, South Africa, South Korea, and Switzerland.
We welcome responses from our readers. Here are a few tips to consider when writing to the Review: Short, specific, and timely letters have the best chance at being published. We accept letters (addressed to the editor) by regular mail, fax, and e-mail; however, letters sent to us via e-mail tend to be more timely and therefore have greater potential for publication. Complete addresses must accompany letters. We edit letters for space and clarity only.
