Letter From Polly

Dear Adventist Review,

ou asked me to provide testimonials from people who were blessed by the Ezra Chronicles. After much prayer, I have decided I cannot do this.

God knows whom this ministry blessed. It certainly blessed me personally, drawing me much closer to God. In this lifetime, I will never know the extent of other blessings. After the third issue of the Ezra Chronicles, a couple I had never met came back to church after a seven-year absence. I walked up and introduced myself, mentioning the letters. I was surprised to hear that they had never received even the first letter. I had the wrong address for them. God called them in a completely different manner, bringing them back to church at the same time everyone else was coming. He did it in spite of me, not because of me, so I would know to never claim ownership of the Ezra Project. Therefore, I will not approach people I perceive to have been blessed and ask them if they would write about that blessing.

Other ministries we have begun at Fredericksburg since the Ezra Chronicles include Jericho Walks and Hundred-fold Blessings. Our first Jericho Walk as a congregation consisted of meeting at the building site for our new church for prayer and then walking around the building site seven times, fellowshipping, and praising God for His leading. Since then, we have held several Jericho Walks to dedicate businesses and homes to the Lord. The Hundred-fold Blessing program began with each member being given a nickel. Those members who chose to invest that nickel in the Lord's work could expect God to bless their gift a hundred-fold. Stewardship secretary Connie Franklin used her nickel as "seed money" to produce a music CD, "To His Glory," which has brought in more than $10,000 in the last two months. All proceeds of the CD sales are donated to the church building program. For more information, I would encourage readers to stop by and spend a Sabbath with us in Fredericksburg, or to visit our website at www.fredsda.com.

Thank you,
Polly
