There are actually 37 recorded miracles of Christ in the New Testament, but in the interest of space and in the style of Buzzfeed, we will focus on five pivotal ones. The stories of these miracles can often fall by the wayside in our spiritual memory, but from time to time it’s important to revisit them to acknowledge whom we serve—the Miracle Worker of all time.

45 11. The First Big One: Turning Water Into Wine (John 2:1-11).

A family wedding runs out of a choice beverage. It could have spelled disaster for the host family. But Jesus, ever sensitive to needs great and small, turned water into wine, and the wedding continued.

45 22. Jairus’ Daughter Gets a Second Life (Matt. 9:18, 23-26; Mark 5:21-24, 35-43; Luke 8:40-42, 49-56).

A father runs to the only One who can restore his daughter. Jesus asks only that the distraught father believe, then brings her back to life and makes sure she is fed. He always cares about our needs.

3. Jesus Feeds 5,000 (Matt. 14:13-31; Mark 6:30-44; Luke 9:10-17;
John 6:1-15).

Five thousand people gather to hear the Master Teacher, and no one has thought to bring snacks. What to do? A boy with a smart mom who packed him a lunch selflessly shares. Christ takes this lunch fit for one, and makes it so everyone is full and satisfied.

4. Jesus Walks on Water (Matt. 14:22-27; Mark 6:45-52; John 6:16-21).

After the greatest picnic lunch of all time the disciples board a boat. During the fourth watch of the night Jesus approaches strolling on the water, defying all laws of physics and gravity. His disciples are terrified. But His action just reminds them of who He really is, and gives Peter the opportunity to tap into His power.

5. Jesus Heals the Servant’s Ear (Luke 22:50, 51).

It was the last miracle He performed before His crucifixion. In reattaching the severed ear (courtesy of an overzealous disciple) of a person who sought to harm Him, Jesus again revealed Himself. This act of power and compassion is Christ personified.
