Give & Take

Adventist Life

This past November my students did a writing activity about things they are thankful for. One of my girls wrote that she was thankful that I had found a home. I told her that I was still looking. Her response was “It’s OK. I am writing it anyway.”

The next day I came to class and thanked my little angel for teaching me an important lesson in faith. Not only did I find somewhere to move, but this new option allows me to save about half of my original budget. God continues to shower me with love!

“And a little child shall lead them” (Isa. 11:6, KJV). I was overwhelmed and humbled by this experience.

Our women’s prayer and Bible study group met together at my place one Sabbath afternoon. Jonathan, 11 at the time, accompanied his grandmother, one of the women who came to the study. I offered him a Bible from which he read texts as requested during the study.

The next morning Jonathan knocked at my door. “Can I see that game?” he asked.

“Of course, I will get it for you, “ I said. I thought he was referring to the game he and my grandson played occasionally. As I started to hand Jonathan the game, he backed away.

“No, that’s not the one. I want to see the game I used yesterday.”

“Oh, you mean my little computer Bible you used at the study?”

“Yes,” replied Jonathan, “that’s it.”

I was happy to get the electronic Bible for him.
