I teach liberal arts at the university level. In writing class we study the written word. In public speaking class we study the spoken word. In religion class we study the Word made flesh.

I hear there’s a science building somewhere on campus.

It’s not quite that bad. I’ve been to Hickman Hall; I just don’t understand Hickman Hall. My knees go weak when I think of dissecting anything but a sentence. Negative numbers frighten me. Quantum physics makes my head spin (which, if I understand correctly, makes your head spin the opposite way).

I wouldn’t be a very good science teacher. But lately I’ve become a better science …
