Regeneration
Ministries
Hal Gates pastors
the Oak Harbor Seventh-day Adventist Church in Washington and is
founder/director of Regeneration Ministries, a Christ-centered 12-step
family recovery, support group network making real a recognition of
need, of powerlessness, and of God's power to restore and renew. Their
goal is to equip congregations to have a safe, healthy place to begin
confronting the denial and issues so prevalent within the church
today. Intensive leadership training and seminars are provided for
developing Regeneration groups to be used in conjunction with the
local church health ministries. Regeneration establishes a
confidential small group forum in which the hurting, unhelped, and
unheard may seek the support, love, acceptance, affirmation, and
forgiveness of others who have "been there" and understand.
Recovery from
addictions; overcoming problem eating; breaking free from self-abuse;
pornography, lust, and misuse of the marital privilege; survivors of
childhood, spousal, or other emotional and physical abuse; and an
opportunity for church members to seek recovery in their own lives are
examples of programs offered.
