Day Three of Prayer: Jan. 9

As we enter a new year with Ten Days of Prayer, we asked 50 leading Adventists: "What is your prayer for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 2015?" Here is what they said.

The prayer that I am sharing with you is one that I often pray for myself. It is taken from Eph. 3:14-16 and is as follows:

“Heavenly Father, I fall on my knees in prayer to You, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. I humbly ask You to grant us who are your people, according to the riches of Your glory, to be strengthened with might through Your Spirit in the inner man, that Christ, our Savior may dwell in our hearts through faith. May we personally experience the deep love of Christ and with this love enable us to reach lost souls for Your Kingdom.”

“My prayer for our church during these 10 days of prayer will be for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit to help us finish the work with power so Jesus can come and put an end to this world of sin. I pray that these 10 days will be days of heart preparation for our global church as it was for the disciples prior to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. Also I plead with the Holy Spirit to give to me and to our church humble and submissive hearts to be molded, controlled, and guided by Him without which we cannot be entrusted with the latter rain that we all need.”

"I lift my heart in prayer for our world church this year. May the Holy Spirit come and stay in our hearts and minds always. May nothing be done without You Jesus. May Your plans be our plans. Keep us humble and diligent, praying always and studying the scriptures earnestly. May others see Your love through us. In Jesus’ name I pray this, Amen."

“God, send us rain. It's summertime. Our souls are parched and dry.

Refresh our spirits with your grace. Bring ending to this drought. God send us now the latter rain.

Visit your waiting church again. Let clouds release their torrents. As you did at Pentecost.”

“Dear God of all love, all light, and all life, in 2015, may we as your worldwide family, planted in thousands of local communities, experience fully the deep oneness of your end-time Spirit. May this baptism of living grace provide that irrefutable witness that we are a called and destiny-directed people. Let our racial, national, ethnic, and gender diversity, find that unity which arises, not from an artificial uniformity, but from our common faith and our common mission. In a world where little children starve, and little girls are sold, and countless millions drown in rising poverty, use us as vessels of health, hope, and healing in a broken world. In Christ’s name, Amen.”
