Why Grace Comes First

Our sense of peace is only as secure as our grasp of grace. If everything depends on us—if all our future hangs on wit and wealth and wars—we have every reason to remain tense, angry and uneasy. Anxiety will fade as we embrace the fundamental kindness of our Lord—a love both masterful and calm. He Who “holds all things together” (Col 1:17) offers us His grace in a covenant of quiet . There is a blessed sequence to His gifts: “Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ” (Rom 2:7). So start—and stay—in grace.
