The Community of Grace

“If you find a believer whose grasp of grace isn’t owing to disciples Christ has gathered ‘round him, go mark him well: he’s either an inspired saint, or else entirely delusional. Not one of Jesus’ disciples would make that claim, nor Paul himself. We learn of grace the way that we learn Christ—by listening well, by being freely forgiven, by opening the Word with gracious, faithful people. Grace is never calculated or intuited: it is taught us day by day in the company of the redeemed. We grow in grace by growing with and toward each other. Stay with the gracious, and stay in grace.”
