The one says ‘You are fully known’: the other, ‘You are fully loved.’ To be completely known, but unloved, is the awful stuff our fears are made of. To be unwisely loved, without full knowledge of our deficits, leaves us forever anxious we will lose what love we have. Grace says, ‘Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight’ (Heb 4:3) AND ‘Your life is hidden with Christ in God’ (Col 3:3).
