Counternarrative of Grace

“Jesus is the great reversal of the story we thought we knew. All our heroes have been killed; all our great ones taken by grim, graying time. But that which seemed the fullest revelation of our fears has become new genesis. ‘Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise partook of the same nature, that through death He might destroy him who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong bondage’ (Heb 2:14-5). Rejoice: the story is not over! Redeemed: the anthem will not end! There is more life to write—more hope, more joy, more resurrection—all His, and thus, all ours. So stay in grace.”
