Must Love God” (Feb 14, 2013). After losing my wife to cancer, someone suggested the Web site Adventist Singles. I appreciated the ease with which I could “check out” the 938 women between the ages of 52 to 72 who were available.
I never made it through the list. I was given a percentage of how close they came to what I was looking for in a wife. I told the Lord that I was too old for this dating thing; that he should just pick someone out for me. He picked Linda, and we are happily married.
I lived in Oregon and Linda lived in Virginia, so there was little chance that we would otherwise ever meet. We both prayed the “scary prayer”: If this relationship would bring glory to God, please bless it. We wanted our marriage to ... »
