ivingston Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is the new name for Adventist Nursing Home. Adventist, which has been a part of the community since 1973, is located on Route 9 in Livingston midway between Hudson and Red Hook. The facility is being purchased by Livingston Ventures, LLC. Mr. Raphael L. Yenowitz, a partner in Livingston Ventures, LLC, is excited about taking over the home.

"I was impressed with the quality of care at Adventist and the home-like feeling of the facility," says Mr. Yenowitz. "Many of the newer nursing homes, although finely appointed, are a bit sterile." Adventist has a comfortableness that makes the transition from the resident's home to this new environment an easy one.

Livingston Hills will carry on the excellent care Adventist has been known for. The employees are committed to continuing the tradition of personal care. Many of the 150 employees have been at the facility for more than 20 years. Some have cared for their own family members at the home.

"I have been approached by a number of family members," comments Mr. Yenowitz, "telling me what good care their loved one is getting. They appreciate the family atmosphere of the home and how the staff interacts with the residents. There is a genuine feeling of support and togetherness like a family."

Livingston Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center will continue to provide long term nursing and short- term rehabilitation services. "We have professional staff, which specializes in physical and occupational therapy. We provide the most up to date restorative therapy for any resident needing this service," said Mr. Yenowitz. "I was pleasantly surprised with the spaciousness of the therapy department and the equipment they have on hand."

Livingston Hills is one of only a few facilities that provides respite care for residents whose family caregivers need to be away for short periods of time. This is a valuable service to the community and provides families with an alternative for care. They can feel assured their loved one is well cared for while they are away.

Another unique advantage of Livingston Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is the continuum of care offered in conjunction with the Adventist Home, Inc., an assist living facility with 49 adult care beds and 30 independent living units residing on the same campus with Livingston Hills. It is a beautiful location with lovely grounds and a magnificent view of the Catskill Mountains. Residents from these programs may go into the nursing and rehabilitation center for specialized care and then return to their home. We have residents in the nursing home who have a spouse or other family member living at Adventist Home. It is so convenient for them to visit the nursing home just across the driveway.
