| HELP FOR THE HAIRLESS: Seven-year-old Cosette Teschke isn't quite as sure about cutting her long hair as was her mother, Shari Teschke. However, both Cosette and Shari, along with Cosette's sister, Alyse, went through with it as part of the "Locks of Love" program-and were happy for their gift when the cutting was done. The hair will be woven into wigs for children who have lost their hair as a result of chemotherapy treatments. Shari said, "We wanted to do this together and make it easier for someone who is losing their hair." Organizers of the haircutting program, which involved stylists Joyce Gaiten of the Holland, Michigan, Huskies (left) and Pat Mainettee of the Rockville, Connecticut, Golden Eagles, thought the haircutting would last most of the morning; instead, it lasted throughout the day as almost 100 people donated at least 10 inches of hair each. |
