Dear Readers:
any visitors to the Adventist Review website have shared their concerns about article that compared and contrasted the teachings of Adolf Hitler and Ellen G. White. I regret the pain this article has brought you and apologize for it.

This article was printed several months ago in the Journal of Adventist Education, and was picked up for use by our website editor. It did not and will not appear in the print edition of the Adventist Review.
The article in no sense is a panegyric of Adolf Hitler. It follows the typical style of Dr. George Knight of Andrews University who presented a provocative paper to the 2000 General Conference Session, "If I Were the Devil . . .", which was reprinted in Ministry and Adventist Review. This recent article makes several important points; nevertheless, because of the sensitivities of the material it includes we probably erred in putting it on our website. The article was pulled on January 14.
The consistent course of the Adventist Review, shown by many articles over the years, has been to condemn the Nazi era and to alert our people to anti-Semitic attitudes that might arise in society or among ourselves. I hope you will keep this larger perspective in mind as you consider the recent website article.
May the Lord bless and keep you. Kindly keep us in prayer, as we seek to do all to God's glory and building up of His people.
Sincerely,
William G. Johnsson
