t a meeting of the General Conference executive committee on November 5, during the North American Division Year-end sessions, Roscoe Howard (pictured above) was elected to the position of division secretary.

He comes from his current position as secretary of the Mid-America Union. His prior service includes the posts of vice-president, departmental director and pastor in the North Pacific Union Conference.

Welcomed by president Don. C. Schneider, Howard said that it was "truly an honor to serve the church at this level. It is daunting to think of how God can use us for His glory." Praising outgoing secretary Harold Baptiste's (right) lasting legacy, Howard concluded by asking for "a double portion of his spirit, a heart filled with compassion, a mind of clarity and confidence, and a soul consecrated by the Lord."

Baptiste leaves the NAD secretary's position, where he served for 12 years, to become a general vice president of the General Conference.
