Over the course of three days delegates at the 57th General Conference Session debated a document on marriage, divorce, and remarriage, before voting the measure on July 7. The document will now become Chapter 15 of the newly revised the Church Manual. During the course of the debate the document was referred back to the Church Manual Committee for further study for the next five years. However, in a surprising turn of events, that vote as subsequently rescinded and the paper was eventually approved by a large majority of the delegates.
