Talking With Ellen White

You would be amazed at today’s technology. We can communicate faster and better than ever.

I am encouraged and blessed as I realize that the God of Israel is still guiding His people and that He will continue to be with them, even to the end.1 God will guide His messengers in the adoption of new methods to arrest the attention of men, and convince their judgment. He will give skill and understanding in the use of effective illustrations to arrest the attention of the people.2

Let us, as believers in God, encourage one another. Let us not lower the standard, but keep it lifted high, looking to Him who is the Author and Finisher of our faith.3

Today, telephones can go everywhere. even to church!

You cannot be too careful of what you say, for the words you utter show what power is controlling your mind and heart. If Christ rules in your heart, your words will reveal the purity, beauty, and fragrance of a character molded and fashioned by His will.4

How could we use this technology for spreading the gospel?

A man is no sooner converted than in his heart is born a desire to make known to others what a precious friend he has found in Jesus; the saving and sanctifying truth cannot be shut up in his heart.5

Seventh-day Adventists are making progress, doubling their numbers, establishing missions, and unfurling the banner of truth in the dark places of the earth.6 God calls upon us to bring freshness and power into our work. We can do this only by the aid of the Holy Spirit.7

The members of the church are not all called to labor in foreign lands, but all have a part to act in the great work of giving light to the world. . . . There is work for every mind and for every hand. There is a variety of work, adapted to different minds and varied capabilities.8 Everyone who is connected with God will impart light to others.9

Any last words of counsel?

Guard closely the impulses of your mind and heart. . . . Take heed lest, when the time comes that you can prove yourself a friend and fill a friend’s place by giving sound counsel, you are unprepared.10

Keep self out of sight. Let your words lead the weary and heavy-laden to Jesus, the compassionate Savior. Work as seeing Him who is at your right hand, ready to give you strength for service.11 Contemplate His greatness, His mercy and excellences. Let His goodness and love and perfection of character captivate your heart.12
