GLOW Stories

Giving light to our world—GLOW—is an outreach initiative in multiple North American Division conferences based on the concept of church members carrying Adventist literature with them wherever they go and handing it out, free of charge, at every opportunity. Here are two short stories of lives touched by GLOW:

Story 127 1 8 2

Recently a church member named Bob was at the local car shop getting a quote from Martin, the owner, for repairing his car. After they finished discussing his car, Bob handed Martin two tracts: “Where Is God When I’m Hurting?” and “A Gift for You.” Martin then told Bob that he had been steadily falling away from God, and had even reached the point of contemplating suicide. He said that he had just asked God to send someone to speak to him about religion if God wanted him to try again and go back to church. The next night Martin and his two children attended an evangelistic series with Bob.

Story 2

Joel was traveling on a train when he prayed and asked God to lead him to someone he could help. He then bumped into Eugene, a recent theology graduate. Joel shared a GLOW track with Eugene titled “Twilight,” and watched while Eugene read the entire tract. Eugene then turned to Joel and said, “Wow! I had no idea about all this spiritualism. Why don’t more people know about this? This tract is great!” Soon Eugene was stocked with several GLOW tracts as well as a copy of the book The Great Controversy.
