In the early 1980s I realized that Christmastime could be used for more than the commercialized holiday. I had time off from work because my employer would generally close for two weeks around the holidays. I started first creating special activities with family members and friends. This developed into acts of charity, such as going as a group to feed the needy at homeless shelters, adopting a child or a whole family, or giving away baskets to seniors. As my family grew, we began sharing family time together with others less fortunate. For me, Christmastime is about family and charity.

No Other Name
Jesus! The only name that’s given,
Through which salvation we may claim;
This, this alone, we breathe to Heaven,
For God accepts no other name.
No other name when skies are bright.
